Equinox Review

Hey There.

I'm here to do a review on my favorite hat, the Equinox. I love it.

It's not a new hat as it was created 3 years ago on 12/16/2009. Many people like it including me,  twist787, and  lolghost2lol. If you want to see what they think of it, look in the comments.

It's quite cheap at 50R$ but NBC would have to log in once every 50 days!

There is a glitch where when you die, the hair just disappears but that's not a problem.

This hair goes well with black and white clothing like I have it. It's quite effective.

Well, that's all folks. See you next time!

Astral Isle Apprentice Package Review

The Astral Isle Apprentice package is awesome! It is one of the best packages ROBLOX has done in a long while. Here is what it looks like in game.

Anyway here is the review..

Texture: 10/10 - This package is just awesome. The texture is so realistic it's amazing, I especially thought the fingers were cool.

Price: 7/10 - Not as high as some other packages, but still a bit expensive for anyone who has under 1k ROBUX.

Wearability: 9/10 - I've been wearing it since it came out, and I still love it.

OVERALL: 9/10 - Great package with a good texture and decent price.

Flying clouds, throwing sporks, and an axe with some truly gnarly capabilities highlight some of the gear available this week. Check it out!
Pompous, the Cloud: Summon a magical storm cloud that will allow you to fly all over ROBLOX!
Throwing Spork: The very tool you used to eat your cafeteria lunches in elementary school, the ROBLOX spork can be used as a projectile, causing endless laughs.
Grim Axe: Use this gnarly weapon to not only behead your foes, but turn their heads into explodable bombs! Each strike does 15 hit points of damage and the resulting explosion will insta-blox anyone caught in the four-stud blast radius.
Noobcaik: Celebrating the timeless humor of decking someone in the face with a huge cake, the Noobcaik will force users to eat it on contact. While they chow down, they'll be bombarded with noob spam, blinding them for a short period of time.

Game Review: Bloons Tower Defense 3

Bloons Tower Defense 3 by ScriptOn is simple, yet extremely fun. You start out by reading a short tutorial telling you how the game works, then placing a monkey anywhere on the "farm" (Area where the Bloons go by), then, you simply push start. The game works by sending small bricks of different colors (Red, blue, green, yellow, ect) over a course while the monkey(s) try to shoot them. There are several different "classes" of shooters to pick from. So now, onto the ratings...

Simplicity - 8/10 This game is simple and easy to learn, but I just can't imagine how long it took ScriptOn to create it.

Looks - 9/10 Very good looking in my opinion. The way the farm are made is awesome!

Replay value - 9/10 I played one round, and bought the game pass to play unlimited rounds.

Overall - 9/10 A simple game, but fun as heck.

The ROBLOX Presidents Day Sale Starts Tomorrow, February 15

Presidents Day SaleOver the next seven days — Friday the 15th through Friday the 22nd — ROBLOX will be playing host to a massive Presidents Day sale. And when we say “massive,” we mean it. Not only will we be discounting select hats and gear by 30-50%, we’ll be making a number of items limited, putting currently unavailable items back on sale, releasing user-created hats as official ROBLOX hats, and launching a new round of gear for the week. We’re going to keep you busy.

What’s especially cool about our Presidents Day Sale is the featured items were selected by users. A couple weeks back, we launched a survey, asking ROBLOX users to decide what items they’d like to be included in the sale. The results dictated what you’ll be able to purchase on the cheap over the next week.
Just about everything will go on sale at once. That means, as of tomorrow, you’ll be able to grab some W Inc. Designer Sunglasses, a Purple Banded Top Hat and 8-Ball Headphones at a discounted price. The Alien Airbreather, an item that has been off-sale for a while and with only about 4,000 in circulation, will come back to life. Of course, there’ll be plenty more.
Get ready to dive into the catalog tomorrow, and keep an eye on it over the next seven days — there might be a few additions along the way.

Help Build Your Games In Studio

Help Build Your Games in Studio:

By Sherknock/Chris - February 5, 2013One of the most significant benefits of models is they can expedite the world-creation process. Models can also be used to expedite game creation. You can use models of trees, for instance, to spruce up a wooded environment. Models are not just eye candy though–they’re often scripted with actual game play functions and have the ability to change what happens in your game or place. They’re not just objects, they’re tools.
Models are also great placeholders for builders. Many users pride themselves on creating every detail of their games from scratch, which we totally encourage. But if you’ve got a compelling idea for a game, you can use models as temporary placeholders to simulate the general scope of your ultimate vision. You can make a template before you build.

Taking the Democratization of Game

Development to New Heights

Game Dev for All (with Litozinnamon)If you’re an aspiring or up-and-coming game designer, you have choices: you can develop in Game Maker or Flixel, Unity or Unreal Development Kit, XNA Game Studio or Torque, among many others. These are all easily accessible tools that individuals and development studios have used to create everything from simple games to feature-rich, pro-quality experiences across mobile, consoles and desktop computers. While there are already myriad choices, suiting an increasing breadth of expertise, ROBLOX is pushing the democratization of game development further than ever by merging a powerful development tool with something no one else has: an enthusiastic player base numbering in the tens of millions.
That’s not to imply it’s easy to reach ROBLOX’s audience. But with the right amount of ingenuity and determination, it’s possible – even for a single person.

Call of ROBLOXia 5: ROBLOX at War
Character Class CustomizerA perfect case study is ROBLOX userlitozinnamon and his “Call of ROBLOXia” series.Call of ROBLOXia 5: ROBLOX at War, lito’s most popular game, consistently ranks in the top 30 at any given moment. Sure, he’s got the wind at his back via name recognition (his game’s title is a play on the renowned Call of Duty name), but ROBLOX users don’t keep coming back unless the game play encourages it. He’s done a good job of adapting the Call of Duty series’ pace and addictive multiplayer gaming mechanics to ROBLOX. He’s also built his own character-customization tool, which he says promotes repeat play sessions and balanced game play – it lets players experiment with a huge variety of equipment without unfairly favoring veterans.
Let’s make an apples-to-oranges comparison. Litozinnamon’s ROBLOX games, almost all of which are part of his Call of ROBLOXia series, have been played more than 16 million times. (98% of those plays belong to Call of ROBLOXia 5: ROBLOX at War.) 16 million.
Call of Duty: Black Ops, a 2010 release and one of the most popular games in the series, has sold a total of 16.4 million units. Again, play sessions of a free game vs. sales of a boxed game is an apples-to-oranges comparison, but things start to come into perspective when you figure Call of ROBLOXia 5 was developed by a teenager from California with a budget mostly consisting of time and Call of Duty: Black Ops was developed on a multi-million dollar (possibly even $100 million) budget by Treyarch, a professional studio. ROBLOX empowers game developers of all ages, even when they’re one-man shops. 10 years ago, such democratization could only be a dream.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Screenshot
What makes litozinnamon’s story all the more representative of how ROBLOX democratizes game development is he never intended to design the next best ROBLOX game. He built Call of ROBLOXia 5 as a “place to spend time with some friends” – other players just happened to notice it and started joining en masse. That would be much less likely to happen had he developed using a tool without a huge distribution channel.
“I’m proud of what I have been able to accomplish, especially when getting my game popular was not the reason why I decided to make it in the first place,” says litozinnamon.
The democratization of game development isn't unprecedented. Other media have gone through similar transition periods. Novelists can distribute their work on user-generated content sites like WattPad – and maybe get a digital book deal out of it. Musicians can not only record their songs on the cheap, but distribute them via digital channels, effectively opening their work to the entire connected world. Before recorded media and diverse distribution, music essentially only went as far as the musicians’ live shows. It was only a matter of time before democratization made inroads into more technologically complex media, such as video games.
While technology and stories like that of litozinnamon make it sound easy to become successful, it’s not. There are a lot of people creating content and inciting competition, and it takes effort to separate oneself from the crowd.
Call of ROBLOXia 5: ROBLOX at War - The Village
“Not everyone has the time or patience to go through all the coding aspects of game designing,” litozinnamon says. “I think people are more likely to design a popular game if they love math and are skilled in it, generally because scripting requires a lot of math work and logic. This isn't always true, because people that aren't experts in math can also create really good games, but it does give an edge in creating scripts.”
Ultimately, though, ROBLOX gives users one of the best opportunities to make serious waves. A couple weeks back, we published a story about Borderline, an upcoming first-person shooter that shows tremendous promise. One part of the discussion that never made it to print focused on the development team’s decision to use ROBLOX when they clearly have the smarts to learn other development tools.
lito Quotation“It’s a platform with a lot of players, meaning that we can get the attention of a lot of people,” user bauer102 said. He further commented on the potential power of game development in ROBLOX, noting “Lua is just an awesome, dynamic language.”
Litozinnamon concurs. “There is no way I could have created a game with a different development tool to achieve the same accomplishment I have here in ROBLOX.”
People who have developed a game using ROBLOX are quick to note it’s an excellent tool and distribution channel. While many have already taken advantage of it to earn serious game development experience and community cred, we’re always working to give users more power. This is a significant driving force behind improvements to our building kit, ROBLOX Studio, our expansion to mobile devices, and how we prioritize development of our rendering, networking and physics engines.
We want every ROBLOX user to believe they have the power to be a successful indie developer — and every right to be part of the game development democracy.

ROBLOX Studio 2013 Fixes and Improvements Coming Soon

SFOTH in ROBLOX Studio 2013One exciting thing about ROBLOX that most people don’t realize right away is it’s not a finished game — it is very much a work in progress. The upside to this is that everyone, both community members and the ROBLOX development team, has a real opportunity to shape the future of ROBLOX. The downside is that since ROBLOX is constantly evolving, it doesn’t stay the same. This can be a source of friction for veteran users who have gotten used to the status quo.
We released ROBLOX Studio 2013 several days ago. One of its key benefits is it runs on a modern, platform-independent framework, meaning we can develop and support one product across the PC and Mac. Ultimately, you will have a more consistent experience, regardless of your platform, and we’ll be able to deliver new features faster.
The ROBLOX Content Team has been using ROBLOX Studio 2013 internally for the past six months to make games such as LEGO Hero Factory: Brain Attack and ROBLOX Battle, and to build the gear items we release in the catalog each week. We have also tested it externally for several months under the “ROBLOX Studio 2.0” moniker. In December, users logged more than 180,000 hours helping us test the new version of Studio. This great test coverage is one of the things that has helped us fix a lot of bugs, the end result being a much more stable Studio.
ROBLOX Studio IconSince last Thursday’s release, we’ve been tracking bug reports and complaints surfacing in the ROBLOX Studio forums. They range from very minor (e.g., you moved the default location of my favorite menu!) to major (e.g., my level runs slowly in ROBLOX Studio 2013!). The Studio Team is hard at work collecting and prioritizing fixes for these bugs. The first of these fixes will go out this evening, followed by more tomorrow, followed by even more after that.
In the meantime, if you are affected by a serious ROBLOX Studio 2013 issue, we’re making the old version of ROBLOX Studio available for download here. This old version of Studio will not be supported going into the future – we’re making it available on a limited basis while we address the outstanding issues in ROBLOX Studio 2013.
We want ROBLOX Studio 2013 to be a great experience and we’re working hard to get it there. Thank you for your patience.

ROBLOX Studio 2013

By - Chris/Sherknock  on - 2/4/2013

This is what we all been waiting for. ROBLOX Studio 2013!

Sadly it turned out to be a bust to MOST players.
There is errors during building, which messes up your game.

But other than that scripters will love this!

ROBLOX Studio 2013 is Better for Scripters

There are two major features in ROBLOX Studio 2013 that scripters are going to love. First, They’ve added syntax checking to the Lua script editor. Similar to spell checkers in word processing programs, the editor will now underline code that it recognizes as invalid. This is useful for catching many types of common programming bugs: missing quotes, unpaired parentheses, dangling code blocks with no closing end statement, mangled initializers, and more.
Incorrect code is now underlined in red. Every small bug you find with syntax checking means one less sequence of: “test > start solo > inspect output > track down line number > correct the bug” iteration that you need to go through, speeding up scripting and making it more fun.
The other useful feature for scripts in ROBLOX Studio 2013 is the ability to debug scripts using the Outputpanel on both the client and the server end. Scripters, welcome to easy mode.

How to Download ROBLOX Studio 2013

ROBLOX updates itself automatically, so if you’ve played a ROBLOX game, chances are you have the ROBLOX Player and ROBLOX Studio. For Windows users, ROBLOX Studio 2013 should appear on your desktop and in your Start menu. If you’re using a Mac, both the ROBLOX Player and ROBLOX Studio 2013 will automatically save to your Applications folder.
If you haven’t played ROBLOX for awhile and want to download the latest version of the player and Studio, you can do so here.

LEGO Hero Factory: Brain Attack

Posted by - Sherknock on - 2/2/2013

The LEGO Hero Factory was a grate contest! In fact, it was the first on of 2013!!!
We all know that in 2012 there was
LEGO Hero Factory: Breakout:

Play as either Stringer or Voltix and scour Makuhero City looking for 6 objects of power. The first team to find all of their items first wins. Watch out! Devious players will seek to destroy the very items that you need to win!

 That was last year.

This year

The 2012 LGO Hero Factory still has more plays.

There is a LEGO Hero Factory in 2014!!
Keep a eye out!

LEGO Hero Factory: Hat review

The biggest event so far in 2013 has arrived! It’s the Lego Hero’s game release and with that game, came three new hats. beneath the very fun game we have some very cool hats which me, myself would love it if they were limited and released separately. However they weren't and I’m here to discuss the highs and lows of them all.

LEGO Hero Factory: Evil Brain:

I don’t know about you but, I love this! This hat was released for a bargain 1TIX when it looks like it could have been published as a limited item, those sorts of hats don’t come round often and people knew it! In under a day 72,000 were sold and the sales are increasing every minute. This was the first hat which was released to promote Lego’s “Hero Factory”.
The Evil Brain is a yellow “plastic” parasite looking hat which looks similar to a brain; the eyes resemble purple crystals, there is also six spiny legs and a spiky tail. This hat is incredibly detailed which everyone can buy. At a low price of 1TIX, you really can’t turn away this deal!

                                                                                                            Furno Mask:

Secondly we have Furno Mask which is the same mask that the Hero’s wear in the game “LEGO Hero Factory”. The mask seems to be made out of two sections, the main head and the jawline; this makes them seem more robotic in nature and not human at all. There is a red covering which seems to act as a protection device around the back of the head and covering where the “ears” would go on a human being. The mask has two main colors, robotic red and metallic silver which therefore makes this one of the best “Event” items I've ever seen.

You can only achieve getting this mask by getting a certain amount or certain badge in the game which is promoting the LEGO Hero Factory

Pyrox Mask:

Finally there is Pyrox Mask which is a jaw dropper! Seriously, they have gone all out with this hat, there is so much detail and texture throughout and at every angle there is something you wouldn't of thought would've been there. The mask has horns, stubs, shine, bumps, claws and more! The Pyrox seems to incorporate the “Evil Brain” so if you somehow can’t afford 1TIX you can get both for free!
Once again you can only get this hat by getting a certain amount or certain badge in the game “LEGO Hero Factory” so don’t delay, if you want these masks, you’ll have to work fast and hard. It took me about 2 hours to get all of the badges and I have now received all items on offer by ROBLOX by promoting LEGO.

*This review will have no ratings due to the nature of the promotion*

Now its time for us to hear your thoughts! Did you think this was the best ROBLOX promotion ever? What did you think of the hats? What about the gears? Let us know on our Group wall, below in the comment section or on our twitter @ROBLOXUniverse
